Food for Fuel - Holiday = A Magnum a day and ‘out of the mouths of babes…….’

Having travelled to the sunny Isle of Wight on very late ferry along with a very carefully packed coolbox having planned food prior to travelling, not just because of nutrition but also because we need to empty the freezer!

No scales for the week so no weigh ins and it always surprises me how little that bothers me while I’m away, I know I will be straight on the scales when I get home!

The biggest issue this week has been trying to get the extra calories in that Adam and I discussed in an attempt to get my weight over 10 stone, specially as being away from home makes me very active, add in two lively boys and it’s scarily easy to overdo the exercise unintentionally (maybe sometimes intentionally……) So daily intake has been upped by 240 calories to support this goal, and this is really hard to meet as I don’t want to eat empty calories but have been less restrictive in what I eat, which is where the magnum a day has come from……..my niece loves them and they were on offer as a box of 6 - it would have been rude not to 🤷‍♀️🤣.

Eating freshly cooked healthy food has not been the issue while away as that is how I mostly like to eat anyway, it’s the extra snacks which have been problematic as we are walking or playing on the beach, chasing my nephews around and so on, but I have felt better for allowing the reins to loosen a little while still being mindful - this may be worth taking home with me?

You may be wondering on the ‘poop’ situation…….after an amazing ‘poop free’ 1:23 zone 2 run last Sunday I was hopeful, easy hour on Tuesday - ‘poop free’, 8 x 1km intervals on Thursday = repetitive disaster 😢😢, but I think I ate some dodgy butter the night before in my jacket potato (I kept telling my husband it didn’t taste right) as my 4 x 10 min race pace off the bike was fine on Saturday and today was a glorious 2 hour undulating but ‘poop’ free run - so extremely hopeful that something is working, let’s see what next week’s intervals give me…..

And as for ‘out of the mouths of babes’, photo opportunity with my two nephews (6 and 4) as I got in between them the youngest says ‘you have a big bottom!) - good job I know that is not true as being too thin is my problem - and no I didn’t shout at him as I was too busy laughing 🤣🤣

Let’s hope the weigh in when I return doesn’t cause any issues emotionally?
